The fatal accidents occurred in Boralesgamuwa, Wellawaya, Dankotuwa, Maduragoda and Kadawatha.
In one incident on the Colombo–Horana Road near Pirivena Junction, a lorry attempting to turn into a side road collided with an oncoming motorcycle. Both the rider and the pillion passenger sustained serious injuries and were admitted to the Kotelawala Defence University Teaching Hospital.
Police confirmed that the motorcycle rider, a 19-year-old youth from Moratuwa, succumbed to his injuries after admission.
Investigations into the accidents are ongoing.
