A man wanted on 88 arrest warrants has been taken into custody by Athurugiriya Police officers following a tip-off received yesterday (11).
Police said the arrest took place in the Gajaba Mawatha area within the Athurugiriya Police Division. The 56-year-old suspect, a resident of Wadduwa, is accused of defrauding individuals by promising overseas employment opportunities.
According to police, the warrants had been issued by the Moratuwa, Galle, Warakapola, and Panadura Magistrates’ Courts in connection with a series of money-laundering cases.
