The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory warning of severe lightning in the Kalutara, Ratnapura, Galle, and Matara districts.
According to the announcement, residents in these areas are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions during this period of unstable weather conditions.
The Met Department further noted that temporary strong gusty winds may occur during thundershowers, increasing the risk of lightning-related incidents. Authorities request the public to follow safety guidelines and minimize exposure to lightning-prone environments in order to reduce potential hazards.
