U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today (December 11), the U.S. Embassy in Colombo said.

During her visit, Under Secretary Hooker will meet with senior Sri Lankan officials to discuss a broad range of bilateral matters, with a focus on strengthening economic and commercial ties, enhancing defense cooperation, and supporting Sri Lanka’s economic and maritime sovereignty.

The Embassy noted that the United States and Sri Lanka share a “strong and enduring partnership,” built on mutual commitments to regional security, economic growth, and prosperity. It added that both countries continue to work closely on defense, trade, and maritime security to help advance a free, open, and resilient Indo-Pacific region.
