According to the latest hydrology update issued at 6:30 a.m. today (11), water levels in all major rivers across the country remain within normal ranges, with no minor or major flood risks reported.
The situation report, released by the Hydrology and Disaster Management Division, shows that key rivers—including the Kelani, Kalu, Mahaweli, Gin, Nilwala, and Walawe—are flowing well below minor flood alert levels. Water level readings taken between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. indicate stable conditions, with several locations recording slight rises of only a few millimetres.
The Kelani Ganga at Nagalagam Street, Hanwella, Glencourse, and Kithulgala all remained at normal levels, while the Kalu Ganga at Putupaula, Ellagawa, and Ratnapura showed marginal increases but stayed far from flood thresholds. Similar stable conditions were recorded in the Gin Ganga, Nilwala Ganga, Mahaweli Ganga, and other monitored basins.
Rainfall over the past 21 hours has been minimal across most gauging stations, with the highest recorded in Maguru Ganga at 29.4 mm and Gin Ganga at Baddegama with 14.7 mm.

Authorities will continue to monitor river levels closely, but as of now, river basin conditions remain safe with no immediate concerns for flooding.
