A Russian humanitarian aid plane carrying 35 tons of relief supplies has departed for Sri Lanka to assist communities affected by severe weather conditions.
Sri Lankan Ambassador Shobini Gunasekara confirmed the dispatch, aimed at supporting recovery efforts after Cyclone Ditwa, the worst natural disaster in the country since the 2004 tsunami, which killed 639 people and affected about 10% of the population.
