India continues to lead as the top source market, contributing 10,453 visitors, which accounts for 21% of total arrivals during this period. Russia followed with 5,420 tourists, while 4,822 visitors arrived from Germany, 3,823 from the United Kingdom, 2,627 from China, and 2,594 from Australia.
According to SLTDA, from January 1 to December 8, 2025, Sri Lanka has recorded a cumulative 2,153,815 tourist arrivals.
Of this total, 485,249 tourists arrived from India, 164,013 from Russia, and 195,565 from the United Kingdom, reflecting strong growth in key markets.
Sri Lanka’s tourism sector continues to show steady recovery, supported by increased promotional efforts and improved global travel sentiment.
