A 29-year-old youth has been murdered in the Walana Road area within the Panadura South Police Division.
According to police, investigations began after the Panadura South Police Station received information that the youth had been injured in an attack last night (8) and had died upon admission to the Panadura Hospital.
Initial inquiries have revealed that the killing was carried out with a sharp weapon and is believed to have been triggered by a financial dispute.
The victim has been identified as a resident of the Kamburugamuwa area in Tudella. His body has been placed at the Panadura Hospital morgue.
Police say a 54-year-old suspect has already been arrested in connection with the incident.
