Opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa met with the Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Mr. Mathew Duckworth, today at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition in Colombo to discuss relief efforts for those affected by Cyclone Ditwah.

During the meeting, he exchanged a range of views on the prevailing situation in the country. Given that Cyclone Ditwah has caused severe disruption to businesses, destabilised the lives of our people, and damaged vital infrastructure,

Mr.Premadasa  respectfully requested the support of the Australian High Commissioner in helping to restore essential infrastructure and facilitate the return to normalcy for affected communities.

He also took the opportunity to convey, on behalf of all Sri Lankans, his sincere gratitude to the Government and people of Australia for the assistance and relief extended to Sri Lanka by the Commonwealth of Australia during this difficult time.
