A flight carrying relief goods valued at Rs. 400 million from the People’s Republic of China arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake this morning (08).
The aircraft transported 84,525 kilograms of essential relief items, including life jackets, tents, blankets, and bed sheets, intended to support communities affected by the recent severe weather.
Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Anura Karunathilake, Deputy Minister of Defence Aruna Jayasekara, and Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong were among the officials present to receive the consignment.
