The National Transport Commission (NTC) has announced that special bus services will be introduced from Kandy to Colombo starting tomorrow morning, aimed at providing relief to passengers affected by recent train travel disruptions.

According to NTC Chairman P.A. Chandrapala, these buses will operate exclusively for passengers holding valid train tickets or season passes, allowing them to use their existing train travel documentation for the journey.

The special bus services are scheduled to depart from Kandy at 4:00 AM, 4:15 AM, and 4:30 AM. Chairman Chandrapala further stated that additional buses will be deployed if the number of passengers exceeds the available capacity, ensuring that all commuters are accommodated without inconvenience.

The designated route for these special services will pass through Katugastota, Galagedara, Hatharaliyadda, Rambukkana, Karandupana, Kegalle, and Pasyala, before arriving in Colombo.

The NTC says the initiative aims to streamline transportation for daily commuters and minimize disruptions during this period.
