Police said the victim sustained severe injuries and was taken to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital, where he succumbed shortly after arrival.
Police reported that the gunman, whose identity remains unknown, fled the scene immediately. The firearm used in the attack has not been recovered, and the motive is still under investigation.
