According to the IRD, taxpayers were initially required to submit their income tax returns for the 2024/2025 assessment year on or before November 30, 2025, in accordance with the provisions of the Inland Revenue Act No. 24 of 2017.
However, due to widespread disruptions caused by severe weather, many taxpayers and their representatives were unable to meet the original deadline. Taking these circumstances into account, the IRD has granted a grace period.
Taxpayers who submit their income tax returns on or before December 31, 2025 will not be subjected to penalties, assessments, or legal action for late submission under the Inland Revenue Act.
The IRD has urged all taxpayers who were unable to file their returns by the original deadline to make use of this extended period to complete their submissions.
