Death toll from cyclone Ditva rises to 607

The National Disaster Management Centre reports that the death toll from the nationwide disasters caused by Cyclone Ditva has risen to 607.

According to the latest update, the number of missing persons has decreased to 214.

A total of 152,537 people from 43,715 families are currently sheltered at 1,211 safe centres, where relief assistance continues to be provided.

Overall, 2,082,195 individuals from 586,464 families have been affected by heavy rainfall, strong winds, landslides, floods, and earth slips triggered by the cyclone.

The Centre further notes that the impact of floods and storm conditions brought on by Cyclone Ditva has now fully subsided across the country.
