The Northeast monsoon condition is gradually establishing over the island.
Several spells of showers will occur in Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces and in Matale district.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, North-western and North-central provinces and in Hambantota district during the early hours of the morning.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Condition of Rain:
Showers are likely at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Mannar via Mullaittivu, Kankasanthurai. Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle in the evening or night.
Winds:
Winds will be North-easterly or variable. Wind speed will be (20-30) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to 45 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Mullaittivu via Kankasanthurai and from Galle to Hambantota via Matara.
State of Sea:
The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Mullaittivu via Kankasanthurai and from Galle to Hambantota via Matara may be fairly rough at times. The other sea areas around the island may be slight to moderate.
Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
