Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has requested the public to refrain from cutting or removing fiber optic and copper cables that have fallen in several areas due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions.

In an official statement, SLT noted that despite being downed, the affected cables remain operational and continue to support communication services. However, incidents of cable cutting and removal have reportedly caused additional disruptions in several regions.

The company urges the public to support uninterrupted telecommunication services during this critical period by ensuring that fallen fiber optic and copper lines are not damaged or tampered with. SLT teams are actively working to restore and secure the affected infrastructure as weather conditions improve.
