Bangladesh sends emergency aid to Sri Lanka

A Bangladesh Air Force C-130 aircraft carrying emergency relief supplies for Sri Lankans affected by the recent disaster arrived in the country today (03) at around 1:00 p.m.

Reaffirming the strong friendship between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Andaleeb Elias, officially handed over the consignment. The aid was received by Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Mayuri Perera, along with a delegation.

The relief shipment includes 1,000 mosquito nets, 500 food packs, 10 tents, as well as electric lamps, boots, clothing items, gloves, hats, and 125 essential medical kits.

Authorities stated that these supplies will be swiftly distributed to communities in the worst-affected areas.
