Deputy Education Minister Madhura Senaviratne confirmed that the security of all examination materials remains intact and that a final decision regarding the new A/L exam dates will be announced shortly. He noted that authorities are committed to ensuring fair and equal opportunities for all students affected by the adverse weather conditions.
Meanwhile, universities and higher education institutes will remain closed until December 8, with further updates on reopening dates expected in the coming days.
However, the Ministry emphasized that schools are scheduled to reopen on December 16, as previously planned. Any changes to this date will be communicated officially.
Education authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as recovery efforts progress across the country.
