Sri Lanka expresses deep gratitude to Maldives for USD 800,352 donation

The Government and the people of Sri Lanka have extended heartfelt appreciation to the Republic of Maldives for its generous donation of USD 800,352 in support of ongoing disaster relief efforts.

In an official statement, Sri Lanka conveyed profound thanks to Maldivian President H.E. Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Dr. Abdullah Khaleel and officials of the Maldives Foreign Ministry, as well as Hon. Ahamed Xamyr, Chairman of the Maldives–Sri Lanka Parliamentary Group. 

The Government also recognized the efforts of Public Service Media, other media outlets, government and private sector institutions, business leaders, and the Maldivian public for their overwhelming solidarity.

Sri Lanka noted that this contribution reflects the enduring friendship between the two nations, especially in moments of hardship.

“Sri Lanka is forever grateful to our Maldivian friends for always standing by us during difficult times,” the statement said.
