According to the latest situation report issued this evening (02) at 6 p.m., 366 individuals remain missing.
A total of 1,558,919 people belonging to 437,507 families are currently affected by the adverse weather conditions, the DMC said.
District-wise data shows that the highest number of fatalities—118 deaths—has been recorded from the Kandy District.
Meanwhile, 83 deaths have been reported from Badulla, 89 deaths from Nuwara Eliya, 53 from Kurunegala, and 27 from Puttalam.
The number of missing persons also remains high:
171 people from Kandy,
73 from Nuwara Eliya,
48 from Kegalle,
28 from Badulla, and
27 from Kurunegala are reported missing due to disaster-related incidents.
Authorities continue rescue, relief, and recovery operations as communities struggle with the widespread impact of flooding, landslides, and severe rains across the island
