A humanitarian relief shipment from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) arrived in Sri Lanka this afternoon to assist communities severely affected by the recent disaster. According to officials, the UAE has notified Sri Lanka that multiple aid flights will arrive between 1 and 8 December 2025.
Today’s delivery marks the second UAE flight in two days, bringing both rescue personnel and essential relief items. Another aircraft is scheduled to land later this evening.
The latest shipment includes 1,116 food packets—each sufficient to support a family for 10 days—and 336 relief bags containing bottled water, tents, blankets, mattresses, cooking utensils, and sanitary supplies. Authorities said the timely delivery of these items will be crucial in meeting immediate humanitarian needs and supporting ongoing recovery efforts in affected regions.
Sri Lanka has extended its deep appreciation to the UAE government for its solidarity and support during this critical period.
