A flight carrying humanitarian assistance from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for communities affected by Sri Lanka’s recent disaster arrived in the country early this morning (02), the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.
The consignment includes a range of essential relief items such as food supplies, safety kits, and tents intended to support families impacted by the floods and landslides.
The shipment was officially handed over by Rashed Ali Al Mazrouei, Second Secretary of the UAE Embassy in Colombo, to Sri Lankan officials including Sewwandi de Silva, Director (Middle East) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Major General Sumedha Wijekoon, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka; and Captain Daminda Rambukwella.
