Death toll rises to 334; Over 1.1 Million Affected nationwide

The Disaster Management Center said that the number of deaths from the island-wide disaster situation has risen to 334, affecting all 25 districts.

In its latest update issued at 6 p.m. today (30), the Center confirmed that 370 people remain missing. A total of 1,118,929 individuals from 309,607 families have been affected by the severe weather conditions.

According to the report, the highest number of fatalities has been recorded in the Kandy District, with 88 deaths. Badulla has reported 71 deaths, Nuwara Eliya 68, Kurunegala 37, and Matale 23.

The number of missing persons includes 150 from Kandy, 64 from Nuwara Eliya, 53 from Badulla, and 35 from Kurunegala.
