The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has extended its appreciation to rooftop solar (RTSPV) customers for cooperating with the request to temporarily switch off their systems in order to stabilise the national grid.

In a public notice issued today (30), the CEB thanked consumers for their prompt response, noting that the measure was necessary to manage the current electricity demand–supply imbalance caused by severe weather conditions and related disruptions.

The board said the decision to request the temporary shutdown of RTSPV systems was taken to ensure overall grid stability and prevent potential outages.

The CEB added that continued public cooperation remains critical as the country works to restore normal power operations.
