All entrance roads to Hanwella town have been restricted due to severe flooding, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) confirmed.
Authorities reported that water levels have risen to 10 feet following an increase in the Kelani River, making travel to the area unsafe.
The DMC has urged residents and travelers to avoid the affected routes until floodwaters recede and conditions improve.
