An Indian Air Force C-130 aircraft carrying emergency relief items for those displaced by the island-wide adverse weather arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake, at around 1:45 a.m. today (29).
The shipment—which includes hygiene kits and other essential supplies provided by the Government of India—was handed over to the Indian High Commission in Colombo by Maitrey Kulkarni, Counsellor (Development Cooperation), Lt. Col. Mandeep Singh Negi, Assistant Defence Adviser, and accompanying Indian Air Force officers.
Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force, together with a group of senior Air Force officers, received the relief consignment.
