The government has called on Sri Lankans living abroad and foreign nationals to contribute to ongoing disaster relief efforts for communities affected by the recent floods and landslides.
To facilitate donations, designated bank account details are available at Sri Lankan diplomatic missions overseas and at foreign missions in Sri Lanka. Two separate accounts have been set up to accept contributions in both local currency and US Dollars.
The announcement was made during a meeting on 28 November with Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya and Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath, alongside foreign ambassadors in Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan ambassadors serving abroad.
