The Department of Meteorology announces that the low-pressure system developing near Sri Lanka’s surrounding seas has shifted its expected path.

According to the latest forecast, the system is now projected to track northward along the island’s eastern coastline, deviating from earlier predictions.

Authorities advise fishing communities, naval operations, and residents in coastal districts to remain vigilant as changes in the system’s path could influence wind speeds, rainfall intensity, and sea conditions.

Further updates will be issued based on continuous monitoring by the Meteorology Department.
