These views were expressed during the 204th meeting of the Pirivena Education Board, held at the Ministry of Education on October 29 with the Prime minister Harini Amarasuriya.

It was highlighted that current educational reforms must be adapted to effectively support Pirivena education, ensuring students receive opportunities that align with modern academic requirements while preserving the traditional strengths of the system.

Officials further noted that creating a structured evaluation mechanism would help identify gifted students early and provide them with necessary guidance and resources to excel and remain in the Pirivena education stream.

The event focused on strengthening Pirivena institutions, safeguarding religious education standards, and encouraging continued contribution from students trained through monastic academic pathways.
