He had been summoned to provide a statement in connection with an alleged financial fraud that reportedly took place about 15 years ago at an institution affiliated with the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).
According to reports, Mr. Sirisena’s statement lasted for nearly five hours, after which he left the CIABOC premises.
Further investigations into the incident are currently underway.
