The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued an early warning for possible landslides in several districts due to prevailing weather conditions.
According to the NBRO, the warning has been issued for the following Divisional Secretariat divisions:
Kandy District: Doluwa
Kegalle District: Kegalle
Badulla District: Uva Paranagama
Ratnapura District: Ratnapura, Elapatha, Opanayake, Kuruwita, Weligepola, Kolonna, and Kahawatta
Residents in these areas are urged to remain vigilant and be prepared to evacuate if heavy rainfall continues. Authorities have advised the public to pay close attention to warnings issued by the Disaster Management Centre and local officials.
