The Bribery Commission and the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) are intensifying efforts to arrest former Minister Rajitha Senaratne, former MP Ven. The Bribery Commission and the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) are intensifying efforts to arrest former Minister Rajitha Senaratne, former MP Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thero, and Thusitha Halloluwa, the former Executive Director of the National Lotteries Board and ex-Director General of Public Relations to former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The Bribery Commission has been pursuing Rajitha Senaratne for over a month in connection with an alleged corruption case dating back to his tenure as Minister of Fisheries. However, investigators say they have yet to locate his whereabouts.

Meanwhile, the CCD is searching for Rathana Thero and Halloluwa over a separate case. Police teams have visited the Obeysekarapura Sadaham Sevana Temple in Colombo, where Rathana Thero resides, but he was reportedly not present.

The investigation follows a complaint lodged by a monk claiming to be the General Secretary of the Ape Jana Bala Party, alleging that Rathana Thero was involved in the abduction, assault, and intimidation of the party’s then-General Secretary before securing a National List parliamentary seat.

Police said multiple teams are engaged in search operations, but no arrests have been made so far.
