Special statement made by the Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe

"According to the request of young girls in Sri Lanka, I started the youth society about 40 years ago. A meeting place for youth in the village is the key fact that I expected to develop young talents and skills through that youth social way for hobby, art, as well as other activities. That matter has been a lot of success. Young girls are currently participating in the fields of the society."
"Within forty years, youth society has become the country's leading youth movement. Some people who came out from youth clubs have come into politics. Some people are in business. All of these are supporting to keep that program going."
"Recently, a big question has raised regarding the amendments the minister submitted to the constitution. Protests are happening everywhere."
"National Convention is going on right now. Going to protest after that I heard. If this goes on, the youth social movement will end. Protesters say relevant amendments have been brought to politicize youth society."
"This problem needs to be solved without taking it too far.
Discussing with the former group of officers who are protesting like this as well as the representatives of existing district organizations and provide a satisfactory solution for everyone.
We all need to know that the youth of this country are not used for social politics. This is a work that the minister and these two groups can do together. This protests become a political issue if that work is not done. Then the political party can enter into these. If that happens, this youth social movement will be lost. All I want is to protect this young social movement. That's why I decided to give you this short message. "
