SLAF Bell 412 Deployed to Combat Raththanagolla Wildfire

On the directive of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and upon a request by the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) Colombo, a Bell 412 helicopter from No. 4 Squadron, SLAF Base Ratmalana, was deployed today to conduct Bambi Bucket operations to extinguish a wildfire in Raththanagolla, Imbulpe–Balangoda.
Water for the operation is being sourced from the Samanalawewa Reservoir, and firefighting efforts are currently ongoing.
