Australia is ready to provide continuous support for a successful journey under the clear leadership of the President- Australian principal Samantha Joy Mostin

Australian principal meets the president. Mrs. Samantha Joy Mostyn, the Australian Principal, met President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and held a bilateral discussion at the Presidential Office today (08) afternoon.

Here were lengthy discussions on the opportunities to continue strengthening the friendship between Australia and Sri Lanka for over 75 years and expanding the ongoing cooperative sectors for two countries mutual benefits.

Australian Principal Mrs Samantha Joy Mostin here stressed that Australia is ready to provide continued support for a successful journey under the clear leadership of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The principal insisted that Australia is ready to provide necessary support especially to strengthen the economy of Sri Lanka.

The President, who mentioned that the friendship between Australia and Sri Lanka continues to strengthen, remembered the support given by the Australian government directly, through international institutions during the tsunami disaster, as well as the economic crisis faced by Sri Lanka. Also, the President here appreciated the support from Australia in Sri Lanka's economic, educational, security, tourism, maritime affairs.

The president who said Australia has become a centre for employment, education and vocational training etc for large crowds in Sri Lanka said that Sri Lanka can learn a lot from the Australian experiences in these fields, and Sri Lanka looks forward to sharing those experiences successfully. And more said.

The President here stressed that Sri Lanka has created a very favorable environment for Australian investors.

According to the invitation of Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the Australian principal who arrived to Sri Lanka yesterday (06) afternoon for a third day official visit is going to visit various areas of the island and to observe several projects supported by Australia operating in the areas of Bandaragama, Mirissa and Weligama.

Representing Sri Lanka along with the Australian delegations, Minister of Labor and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dr. Anil Jayanta, President Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Senior Additional Secretary Roshan Gamage attended the event.
