Special message to the motorists in Colombo - Kataragama road

The annual Esala Perahera Festival of the Devinuwara Sri Vishnu Devalaya, located in the Gandara Police Division, is scheduled to take place on August 7 and 8, featuring both the Kavadi Procession and the Final Randoli Perahera.

The Kavadi Procession will be held on August 7 (Wednesday) from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The Final Randoli Perahera is scheduled for August 8 (Thursday) from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

During these times, sections of the Colombo–Katharagama main road will be temporarily closed for the procession.

As a result, the Police have requested all motorists to use the following alternative routes to minimize inconvenience:
