Special Security and Traffic Plan Implemented for Kandy

A special security and traffic management plan has been rolled out in Kandy in preparation for the historic Esala Perahera, which will continue its street parades until August 8.
Police say that the measures include roadblocks, vehicle and pedestrian checks, security deployments, assistance for tourists, and designated parking arrangements.
The traffic plan will remain in force both during the Perahera processions and at other times throughout the day.
