Sri Lankans working abroad sent home USD 635.7 million in remittances during June 2025, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. This reflects a 22% increase compared to June 2024, when remittances stood at USD 519.6 million.

The growth underscores the vital role of migrant workers in bolstering the country’s foreign reserves and supporting overall economic stability.
