Mohamed UsaithSri Lanka’s Mohamed Usaith delivered a commanding performance to secure a place in the final of the men’s 75kg category at the Asian Under-22 and Youth Boxing Championships, currently underway in Colombo

Usaith outclassed his Kyrgyz opponent, Abdrakhmanov Daniel, in the semi-final with a 5–0 unanimous decision, demonstrating dominant and aggressive tactics right from the opening bell. The home crowd witnessed a spirited performance as the Sri Lankan pugilist overwhelmed his opponent with precision and power.

With this victory, Usaith advances to the final, where he will face Kazakhstan’s Konsbekov Aman tomorrow (May 23). Hopes are high for a gold medal finish on home soil.

The championships have brought together top young boxing talent from across Asia, and Sri Lanka’s athletes are proving themselves as serious contenders on the continental stage.
