Two Arrested in Weeraketiya for Possessing 100 kg of Narcotics

Police in Weeraketiya have arrested two individuals in connection with the possession of a massive 100 kilograms of narcotics, in what authorities are calling one of the largest drug seizures in the area in recent times.
According to police sources, the suspects were apprehended during a special raid conducted based on a tip-off.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the narcotics were likely intended for distribution across multiple regions. The two suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be produced before the Tangalle Magistrate’s Court.
Authorities have launched further investigations to determine the source of the narcotics and whether the suspects are part of a larger drug trafficking network.
