T-56 Firearm seized at Havelock Housing complex: Two Arrested

According to the Wellawatte Police, the suspects a 40-year-old woman from Battaramulla and a 68-year-old woman from Colombo 6 were found in possession of the weapon during a targeted operation. The circumstances surrounding the possession of the military-grade firearm are currently under investigation.

The suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate's Court today (May 21). Authorities continue to probe the source of the weapon and whether it is connected to any broader criminal activity.
