NBRO issues landslide warnings for multiple areas

According to the NBRO, the warnings will remain in effect from 2:00 p.m. today (May 20) until 2:00 p.m. tomorrow (May 21). The affected areas include several Divisional Secretariat Divisions (DSDs) across six districts.

The warnings have been issued for the following areas:

Colombo District: Seethawaka

Galle District: Elpitiya

Kalutara District: Palindanuwara, Ingiriya

Kandy District: Chhedaya Korala

Ratnapura District: Kuruwita, Kiriella, Eheliyagoda, Nivitigala, Kalawana

Kegalle District: Dehiowita, Ruwanwella, Warakapola, Bulathkohupitiya

Residents in these areas are advised to remain vigilant and to take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety. The NBRO urges the public to pay attention to unusual signs such as ground cracks, tilting trees or walls, and to evacuate to safer areas if necessary.
