Sri Lanka's ODI captain Charith Asalanka has officially joined the Mumbai Indians franchise in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. The left-handed batsman replaces South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch, who exited the tournament midway due to undisclosed reasons.

The Mumbai Indians management has confirmed that Asalanka has been signed for a sum of 75 lakh Indian rupees (approximately 26.4 million Sri Lankan rupees). His inclusion adds experience and stability to the MI middle order, especially at a time when the team is pushing for a playoff spot.

This marks a significant opportunity for Asalanka to make his IPL debut and showcase his international prowess on one of cricket’s biggest stages. Asalanka has been in excellent form in the ODI circuit and is expected to bring that momentum into the T20 format.

Fans in Sri Lanka and India will be watching closely as the 27-year-old gears up in the iconic blue and gold jersey.
