Girl dies in suspicious house fire in Kottawa

A teenage girl tragically lost her life under suspicious circumstances after a fire broke out at her home on Rukmalgama Temple Road in Kottawa last night. The girl was alone at the time, as her mother and siblings were away attending Vesak celebrations.
Despite the swift response from the Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte Fire Brigade and local residents, the blaze could not be contained in time to save her. Her body was found completely burned, with significant damage reported to the house, including the roof.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. The Nugegoda Crimes Division has launched an investigation into the incident.
