The 45-year-old female suspect, who had arrived on SriLankan Airlines flight UL 405 from Bangkok, was intercepted by the Customs Narcotic Control Unit shortly after landing Her suspicious behavior prompted officers to inspect her checked luggage, which led to the discovery of the narcotics concealed within.

Customs spokesperson, Additional Director General Seevali Arukgoda, confirmed the details, stating that the street value of the seizure was based on current market prices, where one gram of Kush can fetch up to Rs. 10,000 among affluent suburban users.

Authorities believe the consignment was intended for distribution in Sri Lanka's high-end narcotics market. Investigations are underway to determine the origin and network behind the smuggling attempt, with international cooperation expected.
