President extends condolences after fatal Kotmale bus accident

According to a statement issued by the President’s Media Division, the President has instructed security forces and health officials to mobilize immediate response efforts and ensure that all nearby hospitals are fully prepared to treat the injured. Government has decided to pay a compensation of Rs. 1 million to families of each individual who died in this bus accident.

Emergency services have been deployed to the scene, and medical personnel are working to provide urgent care to survivors.

President Dissanayake emphasized the government’s deep concern over the rising number of road accidents in the country. He stated that steps are already underway to formulate a comprehensive national program aimed at reducing such incidents and improving overall road safety.
