
Popular tutor ‘Teacher Amma’ Hyeshika wanted for alleged assault

Police have launched an active investigation to arrest popular private tutor Hyeshika Fernando, widely known as ‘Teacher Amma’, following allegations of a physical assault on a young man.
According to police reports, the incident occurred when Hyeshika Fernando allegedly kicked the victim in the testicles during a confrontation. The injured individual was subsequently admitted to the Negombo Hospital for medical treatment.
In the wake of the incident, Fernando is reported to have fled the area. However, her husband and manager were apprehended by the Katana Police in connection with the case. Both individuals were produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court and have been remanded until May 14.
The Magistrate has directed the Katana Police to intensify their investigation and arrest the main suspect, Hyeshika Fernando. Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate and produce her before court.
The case has attracted significant public attention due to Fernando’s popularity as a tutor known among students and parents across the region.
