A high-impact workshop aimed at accelerating digital transformation across Sri Lanka’s transport sector was held at the ICTA premises. Organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy in collaboration with the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA), the event brought together senior officials from 17 institutions under the Ministry of Transport, Ports, and Aviation.

A high-impact workshop aimed at accelerating digital transformation across Sri Lanka’s transport sector was recently held at the ICTA premises. Organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy in collaboration with the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA), the event brought together senior officials from 17 institutions under the Ministry of Transport, Ports, and Aviation.

Spearheaded by Bimal Ratnayake, the workshop featured insights from leading technology experts including Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya and Prof. Kapila Perera. Discussions focused on the integration of key national digital initiatives such as the Sri Lanka Unified Digital Identity (SLUDI), National Data Exchange (NDX), and digital public infrastructure.

Participants explored the potential of AI in governance, the efficiency of the GovPay platform, and the importance of strategic planning for citizen-centric services. The session concluded with an interactive discussion, fostering collaboration and shared learning. The initiative represents a significant step in strengthening public sector service delivery through digital innovation.
