
Sri Lanka reaffirms non-aligned stance amid India-Pakistan tensions

Addressing the weekly Cabinet media briefing, Dr. Jayatissa emphasized that Sri Lanka firmly rejects all forms of terrorism and remains dedicated to supporting peace and stability in South Asia.
Commenting on the recent developments along the India-Pakistan border, the Minister stated that the Sri Lankan government is closely monitoring updates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but will refrain from involving itself in any geopolitical conflicts within the Indian Ocean region.
“Sri Lanka will continue to follow its longstanding non-aligned foreign policy and will support anti-terrorism efforts that ensure the safety and security of the region,” he said.
The Minister further highlighted that Sri Lanka maintains strong and friendly diplomatic relations with both India and Pakistan and will work towards preserving those ties amid regional tensions.
