SriLankan Airlines has announced the immediate suspension of all flights from Sri Lanka to Lahore, Pakistan, citing safety concerns as the reason for the decision.

In an official statement released today, the national carrier confirmed that the suspension will remain in effect until further notice. The airline did not elaborate on the specific nature of the security issues but stated that the move was taken in the best interest of passengers and crew.

“SriLankan Airlines places the highest priority on the safety and security of its passengers and staff. In light of recent developments, we have decided to temporarily suspend our services to Lahore,” the statement read.

Passengers booked on affected flights are advised to contact the airline's customer service for rebooking options, refunds, or alternative travel arrangements.

The airline operates several regional routes, and Lahore has traditionally been a key destination for both business and leisure travelers. The suspension is expected to impact travel plans during the busy summer travel season.

SriLankan Airlines said it is closely monitoring the situation and will resume operations as soon as conditions permit.
